Mark Taylor

Minister of Music and Worship

Mark has a long history with Hillcrest, having served as Minister of Music and Youth before attending Southwestern Theological Seminary (Fort Worth, TX) and then returning to Hillcrest in 2007 to serve as Minister of Music and Worship.  Mark is not only an accomplished vocalist and pianist, but a composer as well, having written three musicals and a host of other songs and arrangements. His musical, Esther: For Such A Time As This, was produced by the The Theatre Company in January 2011.  He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas A&M University (College Station, TX) and is working on a dissertation for a Ph.D. in Organizational Creativity from Texas A&M.  His worship philosophy centers on Bible-based worship in which the congregation collectively and unselfishly offers the sacrifice of praise, believing God's promise that He does inhabit the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).  Mark and his wife, Beverly, have three boys - Nate, Cully, and Ike, all avid musicians.
